• Steve Boyle

Steve Boyle studied film and television at the Queensland College of Arts where he later met directors Peter and Michael Spierig. This friendship and Steve’s passion for special make-up effects led him to do the effects in their short films and later their debut feature film Undead. In 2004 Steve had the pleasure of showcasing his talent to Academy Award winner Richard Taylor who promptly offered him work in New Zealand on Peter Jackson’s King Kong. From there Steve continued to work at Weta Workshop on various films such as: Black Sheep, 30 days Of Night and Under The Mountain, all while continuing his writing and collaboration with other film makers. Steve relocated back to Australia to design the Vampire FX in the Spierig brother’s next film, Daybreakers. He recently designed the shark and special makeup effects for the film Bait 3D, and worked on PJ Hogan’s Mental. Steve also supplied effects work to Andrew Traucki’s film, The Jungle and What We Do In The Shadows, which was shot in New Zealand. Steve is currently beginning prep on the sci-fi film Predestination, written and directed by the Spierig brothers and starring Ethan Hawke.
