10 By 10 Awards and Closing Night Party

It wouldn’t be a film festival without a chance to let your hair down…

But first, there’s one more bit of formal business to wrap up. We will be announcing the winners of our second annual 10 By 10 Short Script Challenge. Said winners will presented with prizes, and there’ll be a live reading of the winning script.

(It’s less than 10 minutes, don’t panic! Actually, it’s guaranteed to be a great script, so why are you being like that anyway? Stop it.)

One that’s done and dusted, and the scriptwriters are reveling in newfound glory (and a few kicking themselves for not submitting a script after all!) it’s on to the festivities.

First up, we’ll have the excellent All Fires, Hobart’s most charismatic band…. You can listen to their latest album here.This will be followed by the horror film/music DJing skills of DJ Piranhaboy. The festival bar will be open, the night will be young and there will be …a theme.

Yes, that’s right! In the tradition of high school proms in America and high quality screenwriting, a unifying motif. The theme is Classic horror villains (yes, they can be female!). These could be from any era, from silent to today…use your imagination. If you’re not going the full monster, the theme you should embrace is BLACK AND WHITE. Or BLACK or WHITE.
